Donations

We accept all types of donations:
+ Clean, Wearable Clothing and Outerwear + Non-perishable foods + Unwrapped presents for children (Christmas, or birthday items) + Books and other reading materials + Computers and related peripherals (in good working order) + Small Household items (in good condition) + Religious items + Money (Check, Cash, Money Orders) +
Land/Real Estate*
*If you have a suitable building or larger house that you would be willing to donate or provide to us for a reduced fee, for use as a Mission residence and/or Chapel, we would be very happy to hear from you.
We do not have corporate financial resources available to us as do many of the larger, mainline Church-affiliated Orders.
A donated residence would really help to alleviate some of our living expenses and allow us to use our already limited resources more productively in our ministry.
It would also provide us with a visible place to live in the community which would symbolize the presence of Christ and St. Francis in the secular world.
Currently we are limited on your ability to pick up any donated items. You can arrange to drop off smaller items at the Mission Residence in Rocky Hill, CT by emailing Deacon Timothy at: Franciscans@excite.com. However, if you have a large amount of items to donate, we can make arrangements to come pick them up or we will provide you with the name of a contact person from a local agency who will come for the donation. Please be sure that you give us your name, address and phone number.
Cash or other monetary donations can be either mailed to us at the Mission in Rocky Hill, CT or dropped off if you contact us in advance to be sure that one of the
Brothers is there to meet with you.
Our
Brothers and Sisters are self-supporting according to our Franciscan custom of being self-sufficient. That means that no donated items will be used by the Friars for their personal living needs. Each of us is employed in a full-time job to cover our basic living costs and needs. If you wish to make a donation to one of our Missions outside of Connecticut, please contact the Friars or Sisters of that Mission directly.
Unless otherwise specified, all donations and monetary funds will be used to assist local people or families in need as well as local charitable groups or organizations. We do not compete with local charitable groups, but rather we work to assist them whenever we can. If you wish to make a specific, designated donation of items to be used by the
Brothers or Sisters, please make sure that you mention this information with your donated items.
Thank you for your charitable donations. They will be promptly distributed locally to people in need.
